Derek Kalles is a seasoned business leader, entrepreneur, and Partner at Kalles Properties, bringing a unique blend of strategic insight, technology expertise, and community-centered leadership to the world of real estate and property management. Derek graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Economics and Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems, a foundation that has supported his diverse career across consulting, technology, and real estate.

Derek began his professional journey as a consultant with Accenture, where he helped enterprise clients solve complex business and technology challenges. Over time, he expanded his expertise into business strategy, digital transformation, and operational leadership across multiple industries — including real estate, software, and professional services.

As the Founder and CEO of Kalles Group, a Seattle-based consulting firm specializing in cybersecurity, technology transformation, and organizational growth, Derek has guided companies of all sizes through critical change initiatives by aligning technology with long-term business outcomes. His leadership has been recognized across the business community, and he continues to be deeply involved in innovation, professional networks, and entrepreneurial ecosystems.

At Kalles Properties, Derek applies his strategic vision and operational acumen to real estate management. Working closely with the executive team, he helps ensure that property owners receive thoughtful, proactive stewardship of their investments while tenants benefit from professional, responsive service. His experience in property management — both locally and nationally — enhances the firm’s ability to balance financial performance with lasting community value.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Derek is deeply committed to community impact and education. He is actively involved with Treehouse, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and youth in foster care, helping them achieve stability and success through education and essential services. Derek also serves on the board helping to launch and grow the Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) program at the University of Washington, where he supports the next generation of business owners and operators through mentorship, curriculum development, and strategic guidance.
